A successful kidney and pancreas double transplantation brought Helena Godger a new life, who had suffered diabetes for almost 25 years.
The 36-year-old mother lives in Christchurch, Dorset.
Her daughter was born safely when she was 29, but Helena’s kidney started to fail.
Her life was maintained by the dialysis 4 times a day, for 8 months, before she got the matched organs.
Helena can’t have children anymore, however, she appreciates her new life which has given her the chance to look after her baby very well and watch her grow up.
